A cotton towel holds a little water and then just pushes the rest around. So you use another, and another, and he still goes and rolls on the carpet — and now there's a pile of soaking towels that will smell of wet dog until wash day.

Microfibre pulls water out of the coat rather than spreading it. One towel does what three cotton ones couldn't, and then it wrings out and dries in a few hours instead of sitting damp in the basket.

Why it works
