Dogs don't sweat the way we do — they shed heat by panting and through their paws, and that's it. Put a thick coat on top of that and a warm British afternoon becomes genuinely dangerous, not just uncomfortable. Which is why the walk gets cut short, or moved to nine at night, or skipped altogether for weeks at a time.

ChillVest gives his body a second way to lose heat.

Soak it, wring it out, put it on. As the water evaporates off the fabric it pulls heat away from his back and chest — the same reason a wet towel feels cold on your neck. No ice, no gel packs, no freezer. Just water and about ten seconds of preparation.

Why it works

💧 Evaporative cooling across the torso — covers the back and chest, where the mass of the body is. It keeps working for a few hours, then you re-wet it.

🌬️ Breathable and lightweight — it has to move air to work. A heavy coat that holds water would do the opposite.

Size guide — measure before you order

Chest circumference is the number that matters. Measure around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs. Weight is a cross-check, not the deciding figure.

S — chest 42–52cm · back 35–42cm · 5–9kg
M — chest 52–64cm · back 42–50cm · 9–15kg
L — chest 62–75cm · back 50–60cm · 15–22.5kg
XL — chest 72–95cm · back 60–70cm · 22.5–35kg

If he falls between two sizes, take the larger one.

What actually changes

The walk happens at a normal hour again. He stops flopping down on the pavement halfway round. And on the two or three genuinely hot weeks Britain gets, you have something to do about it besides staying indoors.
